A full range of accommodation is available in South Florida from major luxury resorts and bed & breakfast inns to national park campgrounds. Major international chains like Hilton, Sheraton are well represented. The choice is almost endless, especially in major tourist destinations like Miami and the Florida Keys.

Advance reservations are absolutely necessary during the summer months June, July and August. At most of the smaller hotels and during busy periods, you may be expected to pay in advance, at least for the first night and perhaps for further nights too.  Most common is to give your creditcard number and sign for everything when you leave.

During off-pak periods many motels and hotels struggle to fill their rooms, and it's worth haggling to get a few dollars off the price. Staying in the same place for more then one night may bring further reductions.  In addition, pick up the many discount coupons that fill tourist information offices and welcome centers.
